New Earswick Community Wood Yard
About us
Background
The woodyard was founded in March 2019 by a small group of volunteers. It is our belief that much of the wood and timber, that is currently thrown away can be reused or repurposed. The woodyard was established to bring this belief to reality and in doing so provide a service to the community.
We are a small community group that operates a reclaimed wood yard. We sell our reclaimed wood and timber at reduced rates and make items to order. The wood that we sell is either reclaimed or repurposed from wooden pallets and other sources such as building sites, people's sheds and garages or donations from companies.
We make a range of standard items for sale such as, recycle bin stores, garden chairs and tables and we also undertake bespoke commissions and repairs. In the past, we have made shop counters, Pallet wood clad walls, cycle stores, and school projects that fit the curriculum as requested by teachers.
Items that we have restored are a Victorian railway bench, garden benches, tables, raised beds and many other items at our customer's request.
The wood that we sell is de-nailed and sold by the metre. It is suitable for DIY and garden projects, Arts and crafts and for making many and varied types of furniture. Don't believe us? Use your favourite search engine and type pallet ideas, you will be amazed at what comes back
Come down to wood yard any time and discuss your requirements, we are always ready to talk.
